Cultured Diamonds

I find that my clients are a very conscientious bunch, and I really love that about them. One of the first questions that always comes up is “Are your diamonds conflict free?” It comes up before we ever discuss pricing or settings.

The answer is, “Yes, they absolutely are.” I never obtain diamonds from sources when I am not sure about the origin. Ever.

I would say that about 90 percent of the pieces I create with my clients are custom, so inevitably they are unique and special. But once in a while, a client goes above and beyond and says, “I think I’d like to do something really different.” Rings like this are the result of such requests.

This is a classic three stone setting in platinum, but I’m sure you’ve already noticed the uniqueness of the center stone. A cultured diamond (laboratory grown, if you will) weighing in at 1.37 carats, certified by GIA as a Vivid Orange color in a round brilliant cut, with VS clarity. High clarity cultured stones are exceedingly difficult to find, mostly because they haven’t figured out how to create a process more efficient than mother nature, so you get the same kind of rarity for clean stones. The side stones are two F color, VS clarity white diamonds, natural and conflict free, weighing in at .71 carats total. Also note from the side profile that the prongs between the center stone and the side stones are shared on the inside, making for a much cleaner look than if each stone had four prongs. The setting was custom cast for this particular center stone’s proportions.

There is only one word for this ring and the color when you see it in person – stunning.
