This pendant is two endless circles of diamonds, one inside the other. This piece was done completely over e-mail. My client had seen a coworker’s pendant that he really liked and described it to me over the phone. I had an idea of what he was talking about, so I took pictures and sent him different variations of the pieces.

He chose this design and we decided to make it even bigger than the sizes that were being manufactured and held in stock at several jewelers. This was in the summer of 2006, before this design had become popular for the holidays. In fact, it’s still harder to find two circles than it is to find a single circle even with the popularity of the design.

I went to work getting matching diamonds together (higher quality than what was being used in the marketplace) and having a craftsman assemble the setting. The total diamond weight on this piece is 2 carats. It has a wonderful weight and presence. It gave me such great joy to see it on his wife after he had given it to her as a present for their tenth anniversary! And the best part was, she had the design before a lot of other people were even seeing it being shown in jeweler’s windows.
