Custom Diamond Cufflinks

Blue Diamond Cufflinks

These are custom engraved sterling silver cufflinks with blue diamonds. A first anniversary gift for a client who also used my services for their engagement and wedding rings. She knew he had pair of teal colored cufflinks that he really enjoyed, but she wanted to give him something that was specially designed for him. They are engraved with his initials, burnished with a blue diamond. We sketched out several designs, and when the cufflinks were engraved, we decided this would be the best way to set the diamonds.

This is a picture of the finished product. He was very pleased with the gift, and I’m sure he’ll use them many times in the years to come!

“She gets good prices on beautiful, high-quality stuff, and can bring a selection to your home/office to peruse at your convenience (she’s sold some jewelry to a friend of ours in Cos Cob, CT, so she’ll definitely come to you!). She can also arrange for beautiful and very reasonably priced custom work. Jerry has purchased a number of pieces from her (including one custom piece featured on her website), and we’ve always been very happy with the value and quality.”

Sapphire and Diamond Ring

Sapphire and Diamond Three Stone Ring

This is a classic three stone ring, with a 2 carat sapphire and .75 carats in diamonds. I required exceptional quality baguette cut diamonds, and couldn’t find them already set and available, so I shopped loose stones, picked out appropriate sizes and qualities for the price range, and had a craftsman assemble the ring. The cost for this ring is about a third of what traditional jewelry stores were quoting to make the piece custom, even with lesser quality stones!

Girlfriend’s Ring – Ruby and Diamond Trinity Ring

Ruby and Diamond Trinity Ring

This is a personal piece. I was looking to create a trinity ring (also known as a rolling ring) incorporating a ring that my husband had bought for my birthday years ago. To honor the sentiment of the ring he’d given me, we used the original diamond and ruby single ring, then added a full diamond band and a third band of all rubies, to make three rings all interlocking. All told, it’s about four carats of diamonds and rubies!

I call it the Girlfriend’s Ring because I have another girlfriend who has a variation on this ring, created with sapphires and diamonds. A picture of that is also posted on the site.

I think the trinity rings are a wonderful baby gift for a first time expecting mom. The ring represents each member of the family, all interconnected, moving effortlessly together.

Girlfriend’s Ring, Sapphire and Diamond Trinity Ring

Trinity Ring, Sapphire

This is another variation of the ruby and diamond trinity ring, but with two bands of diamonds instead of one. This client and friend loves sapphires, which are great for this kind of ring because they are very hardy. Shortly after creating this piece, I did a third ring in the same design, but with tsavorites (green garnets) for another friend. There is now a trinity of rings!

Yellow Sapphire and Diamond Ring

Yellow Sapphire and Diamond Ring

This piece is very similiar to one seen at Tiffany’s – for about 10 times the cost. This is a 1.5 carat yellow sapphire, radiant cut, surrounded by a full carat of Tiffany quality diamonds, set in platinum. The yellow sapphire is very close to the color of a canary diamond. I did investigate how much it would be to acquire this piece from Tiffany’s with a canary in this approximate size – try 100 times the cost. Yikes!

Ruby and Diamond Pave Ring

Ruby and Diamond Pave Ring

This is an exceptional quality ruby ring – 1.5 carats in an oval ruby, surrounded by 1 carat of diamonds. The center stone needed a setting to be matched for its shape and color, and this is the finished product. It is stunning in person – enough character to wear as a cocktail ring, but enough interest to want to wear every single day.

Pink Tourmaline Ring

 Pink Tourmaline and Diamond Ring

This is a custom assembled piece. Does the stone look almost red? That’s because the saturation of color in the center stone is so strong that it borders on being categorized a rubellite! It’s flanked by two excellent quality diamonds, each a third of a carat, F color, VS2 clarity. Now that’s a right hand ring!

Grandmother’s Pendant

 Grandmother's Pendant Closeup

This a custom design for clients who were looking to buy a special 65th birthdayy gift for a grandmother of five. I am not a big fan of the traditional mothers’ and grandmothers’ pendants – I find they can be kind of “hokey”, and so together we put together a design that used alternative birthstones for each of the grandchildren.

The design is based on the “Journey pendant” design, but instead of diamonds, we used birthstones. The children were born in January, August (two of them) and October (another two grandchildren). We arranged the stones in order from youngest to oldest, witih the youngest’s stone being the smallest and the oldest’s being the largest. To maintain the same color scheme, we used tsavorite (green garnet) for January instead of the traditional red, and green tourmaline for October instead of the traditional opals.

When I called to see how things went, I was told that she got misty-eyed, which of course, is why I’ve chosen this as my life’s work. I can’t imagine a greater reward than to make someone happy with something that reminds her of her beautiful family.
