Maybe it’s because I’ve been pining for a night out on the town, but lately I’ve been enamored with cocktail rings. Big, beautiful rocks in minimal settings that make me think of those ring pops I wore as a child. Only one is required in a jewelry wardrobe and there’s something wonderfully mesmerizing about a big stone. If you can tear yourself away from staring at the jewel in your cocktail ring for long enough, you might have time to enjoy your actual cocktail. These rings are wonderful gifts to give along with a drink that comes in a glass with a stem. If you’re really suave, you can drop the ring in right before you offer her the glass. Just make sure it’s her first drink of the night, not her third, or you might have to have another ring made.
The featured ring is a one-of-a-kind I executed for no other reason than I fell in love with the stone. It’s an exquisite blue topaz in a square asscher cut that weighs over 15 carats. It took two months to find the perfect setting for it but I think the end result is just glorious. Perfect for sitting by the pool sipping a fruity something cold in your favorite bathing suit, and what I love the most is it will transition nicely into fall when turtlenecks, chunky sweaters and boots come back on the scene. What pops better against fall’s browns and neutrals than sky blue?
